Early September saw the arrival of much wanted rain, and wow did we get it! What we didn’t expect one afternoon was to see five (yes five) tornadoes passing no more than 20 km away just west of the Brijuni national park.
Big winds are expected across our grove every so often but our well kept trees which are constantly pruned to stay healthy, deal well with all that mother nature can throw at them. In fact the sight of the olive grove on a windy day is quite remarkable. When the wind passes through the trees it lifts the leaves revealing the silvery colour on the underside. In this way you can actually see each gust of wind as it passes on it’s way, as waves of silver and green. Nature is not only providing a great show but also bringing us the sea salt on the breeze which make this region so special for olive growing.
